supplies

Ever since I had started sharing the activities that I have been doing with my daughter, a lot of you had requested me to share the kid craft supplies that I have been using at home.

As most of you might know, that when I had started doing these activities, I felt completely lost. It felt like for each activity that I wanted to do, I had to spend a lot of time planning them and not to forget the multiple trips to Target to have everything that I needed to complete the activity.

After a lot of running around and wasting unnecessary time over planning each activity, I reached to the conclusion that how amazing and stress-free it is to build a minimal craft supplies library at home for kids.

The craft supplies library is no different than your pantry just a little smaller, where you can drop by and pick the things you need for the day and once you are done keep those things back.

Also having all the craft supplies organized neatly at home in one spot can save you a lot of time but also many other things.

  • Multiple trips to close by stationery stores
  • Help you be more creative as you have everything in front of you
  • Make the most of your as well as your kids time, as you can always pick up an activity to do
  • And lastly, help you save a lot of money as you have a very clear idea of what you have in stock and what needs to be restocked again

What are the kid art & craft supplies that you should own?

I have a very basic craft supplies library at home packed with the art & craft supplies, basic things that you need for sensory bins and a few other miscellaneous items that I have found very necessary in doing activities at home with my daughter.

Here is a list of everything that I own in my daughter’s art & craft supplies library. There might be many items that you can easily find lying around at home, the idea is to have them stocked in one spot so that you can access them easily when you need them.

Tip: Always make use of post-it notes to write down the items that you are going to run out of and stick it on the wall next to your activity supplies so that you don’t miss anything when you need them.

Storage:

Wondering how to do these activities with your little one, then check out this colourful table set that I have for my daughter. Sharing a few more kid activities table options below.

Art Supplies:

Craft Supplies:

I usually get this assorted pack of craft supplies at home which comes with all the necessary craft supplies like pom poms, pipe cleaners, googly eye, craft sticks etc. You can also stock them individually.

Items I restock often:

  • Painters tape – They are so great to do indoor activities for high energy kids. Also, I love drawing tracks for my daughter all the time so that she keeps moving
  • Food colors – Love using them in various sensory and art & craft activities
  • Sidewalk chalk

Sensory Bin Tools:

Sensory Material:

The perishable items like rice, lentils, oatmeal etc. I store them in airtight Ziploc bags once they are used. I have made individual bags for rice, lentils, cornmeal, cereals etc. and they have lasted me for years.

Tip: A plastic mat or an old bedsheet comes in handy and can save you a ton of time from having to clean up on the art & craft activities once your little one is done playing. Also, a great idea to have a shower curtain liner specifically assigned for all your little one's messes in the bathtub.

Check out this post here which is a step by step Montessori approach on how to layout an activity for your little one so that they are attracted to it instantly, easy to do them and are motivated to do it again and again which means more time for you moms to get some me-time.

The above list has everything that you need to set up an art & craft supplies library in your home for your little ones and also as they grow this supplies library can come in super handy for their school artwork and homework.
