1. Baking Soda Vinegar Experiment
For those little Einsteins who enjoy science class, this baking soda and vinegar experiment will surely blow their minds. They’ll learn about the fascinating aspects of science and experience a range of colorful reactions. Here’s a list of things you’ll need:
- Baking soda
- White vinegar
- Plastic storage bin
- Food colors
- Bowl
- Tools to play such as droppers or syringes
All you have to do is mix the vinegar and food colors in four different bowls. You can get your child’s favorite colors to add more excitement to the experiment. Once mixed, put these bowls inside the large bin in one corner. Next, throw in the baking soda. If this is a group activity, you might need to double the quantity of the soda. Hand your kid the dropper or syringe and teach them to pour some of the colored vinegar on the soda gently. What they’ll experience is a rainbow volcano! They can mix different colors to observe the reactions.
2. Snow Painting

Add some snow to the large plastic storage bin. Don’t fill it up to the brim, but cover the basic with a thick layer. Next, take your food colors and mix them in water, and pour them into the bowls. Hand the paintbrush to your child and let them paint away. They’ll notice how the colors absorb in the ice and how vibrant it looks. This is a great activity to help improve their hand and eye coordination and creativity. You can use this opportunity to teach your child about the different weathers as well.
