Has your little one lately been obsessed with caterpillars? Then this easy to do caterpillar craft is a must try with toddlers.
As we are currently in the middle of the rainy season, spotting moving caterpillars has been my daughter's latest favorite thing to do as soon as we step outside. Making a caterpillar craft is a great way to teach your kids about many things like nature, what is a caterpillar, colors, numbers, patterns and etc.
In the past, I have often shared simple ideas on how to make easy caterpillar crafts that your little one will love and since the last month has been all about doing activities with pom poms in our household, I decided to work with my daughter on a fun craft of using pom poms to create caterpillars.

Caterpillar crafts are great for even older kids. Besides the above mentioned skills, caterpillar crafts are a great way to teach your child about the life cycle of the caterpillar which is very interesting.
So let's get into how to make an easy caterpillar craft with your little ones!
First draw a leaf on a green construction paper and cut it out using a scissor. Make sure you keep the scissor out of reach of your toddler!
Once the leaf cutouts are ready, using a glue make a line in the center of the leaf as shown for the pom poms to stick on them.
Involve your toddler and show him how much fun it is to stick pom poms on the glue back to back. Also while doing this you can talk about how many pom poms you are sticking, colors, patterns, etc.
Once the pom poms have dried up, stick googly eyes to the first pom pom as the eyes of the caterpillar. Also using black pipe cleaners attach the tentacles to the caterpillar head. A little heads up – It can get a little tricky to attach the pipe cleaners to the head. I inserted the pointed end of the pipe cleaner to the pom pom, but make sure to keep that away from the kids.
Making caterpillar crafts at home is always a great hit at our home and we love doing them. Are you ready to make a caterpillar craft with your kids?
