My most awaited moment of the entire summer was here. We were finally able to have our first swim of the season. If you have been following my blog, you must have heard me talk a lot about how excited I am about the summer to be finally here and how I cannot wait to jump in the water. Well, that day finally arrived this past Saturday. We made it to one of our favorite freshwater beaches here ‘Sunset Bay Beach’ located here in south Buffalo along the sandy shores of Lake Erie. Besides the sparkling blue water, sunset bay beach has two other attractions to look forward to – The Sunset Bay Beach Club and Cabana Sam’s Bar & Grill with mouth-watering food options to choose from and a cute little ice cream parlor. This has been our favorite hangout spot for a swim and lies on the beach activity, for as long as I can remember.

This was Mishika’s second trip to this beach, the first one being when she was seven months old and had just learned to crawl. Last time we were here in mid-august and the water was warm and Mishika was comfortable touching the water and crawling on the sand. But this time, with it being only June the water was cold as expected, but after we dared to take our first few dips it was great fun to swim in the water.

And as for Mishika, this time she preferred to be outside on the sand playing with it, touching and soaking her feet in the water and watching us all take turns to swim. We spend most of our Saturday on the beach, building sandcastles with Mishika, eating home-cooked snacks on the beach, taking too many silly pictures, playing throw ball in the water, swimming, and just laying on the beach.

Some of the fun-filled snaps from our leisurely beach-day Saturday.
