If you guys are a veggie lover like me and love trying out fun recipes with them, then zoodles is a great way to spice things up. I love making zoodles at home, it's not only mine but also Mishika's favorite. To get some flavors into it I also like to add some tomato sauce (which I prepare from scratch!). This recipe just takes me under 10 minutes to prepare and is a great healthy option.

Zoodles is a simple way to remove simple carbs and add some veggies into your life! I use this spiralizer to make zucchini noodles which is so easy to use and a thousand times easy to clean.

Kitchen Gadgets Required

Ingredients required for Zoodles

  • 2 medium-sized zucchini (medium size are easy to work with the spiralizer)
  • Chopped garlic cloves
  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • 2 basil leaves
  • A pinch of salt

Method to make Zoodles

In a frying pan heat olive oil. Add chopped garlic and basil leaves and a pinch of salt to it. Once heated add the zoodles and let it cook for some time.

Ingredients required for tomato sauce

  • 2 medium-size diced tomatoes
  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • Chopped garlic cloves
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • A pinch of freshly chopped parsley
  • Ground pepper (for spicy tomato sauce)
  • Chilli flakes (for spicy tomato sauce)

Method to make tomato sauce

Heat the olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add the chopped garlic to the oil (if you want a spicy sauce, you can add some hot pepper and chili flakes). Saute the entire mixture for some time and then add chopped parsley and the tomatoes to the oil. Let the mixture simmer at medium heat for 5-7 minutes. Make sure that the sauce does not thicken too much. Finally taste the sauce to check the salt. The tomato sauce is ready!

Serving Style

Serve the tomato sauce over zoodles ‘just add a small amount of tomato sauce initially to the noodles, to begin with, and then add the sauce as per your taste :)'

You can also use the spiralizer on different vegetables (not just zucchini), including cucumbers, sweet potatoes, carrots and squash. This is just one of the ways to try out zoodles, there are so many ways that you can make zoodles at home.
