This past year, all our routines have significantly changed, which is why this holiday season, I have partnered with the American Dairy Association for their #MakeMilkMoments sweepstakes. You can enter the sweepstakes for a chance to win $500 and a nostalgic gift basket!

Instead of running to work in the morning with the kids heading off to school, we are able to create more special moments with the entire family in the mornings. Just like many of you, our daily routines at home have changed, but one of my most cherished routines with my little toddler is spending time outdoors in our backyard first thing in the morning while enjoying a hot glass of nutritious and delicious milk.

Sharing a glass of milk, early in the morning is a special bond that I get to enjoy with my toddler along with taking in the fresh morning air. The time spent during this moment has always left me feeling happy and gives a great head start to the day. It reminds me of my childhood memories, doing the same thing with my family back home, and brings me much joy that I am able to do the same with my family here.

I have always enjoyed drinking milk. It helps my body get all the essential nutrients like calcium, vitamin D and potassium. And for the very same reason, I have always made sure that Mishika gets her daily dose of nutrients too by drinking milk. Between 1-2 years of age, Milkshika would drink milk with most of her meals. Now that she is 3 and loves drinking milk, I have been offering her two servings of milk, one in the morning and one before bedtime.

Making sure that my daughter drinks milk leaves me stress-free of having to worry about her diet, as I know that she is getting the nutrients she needs in the best way possible. Some other ways that I incorporate milk in our diets is by adding it into many of our favorite recipes at home. You can add milk to the scrambled eggs, which not only makes it taste great but creates a soft and fluffy texture. Milk is always the main ingredient in our smoothies and milkshakes, but did you know that you can add it to pasta and Indian curry recipes for extra creaminess and flavour? Adding milk to these recipes only makes them all the more delicious and worth savouring.

Milk is a simple way to help kids get nutrients they need to grow strong – with 9 essential nutrients and 8 grams of protein in each 8-ounce glass, milk is a simple and easy way to support your family’s health during these unprecedented times.

Also, along with milk being nutritious for your little ones and entire family, knowing that it is responsibly produced by dairy farmers who use sustainability practices to protect the environment  makes drinking milk all the more satisfying and joyful. The latest research shows that the U.S. dairy industry accounts for only about 2 per cent of the U.S. greenhouse gas emissions and the dairy farmers along with the government and university experts are working on ways to reduce that figure even more by bringing in advanced new technologies. One such amazing technology are methane digesters, which help convert food waste into electricity that can power the dairy farm and other homes in the community.

Such a great way to support sustainability for a better environment.

Truly guys, sharing a glass of milk always creates such beautiful moments that you can cherish for the times to come.
