How to make puffy paint?

Puffy paint is one of my favourite types of paint to make. It so smooth and so much more fun than the usual paint. Also, it dries off pretty quickly!

Time taken

5 mins

Things you need

How to make puffy paint

  1. In a bowl mix ¼ cup white glue and 3/4th cup shaving cream
  2. Add a drop of food colour or washable paint and whip it together until you see a smooth colour

That’s it! It’s so simple to make.

Tips with puffy painting

  1. Never do puffy painting on a carpet or let it get anywhere near your clothes as it has glue in it which can be really hard to get out
  2. You can store the leftover puffy paint in a Ziploc bag and can easily use it for a few days
  3. Applying puffy paint can be tricky. Using a sponge brush makes it easier
  4. It’s best to use puffy paint over a cardstock sheet or a thicker sheet. Even cardboard will work great.

I hope these shamrock templates help you celebrate the day with your family or classroom!
