Two things that I absolutely love about Autumn is crisp fresh cold air and my favorite apple picking. Going down to the farm to pick apples has been my favorite activity each Fall season. Over the past many years Mayank and I have explored many local and beautiful farms around here and this year it was all the more exciting as we were able to take Mishika with us.

We drove down to the countryside to visit beautiful 340-acre fruit and vegetable farm ‘Becker Farms’. This was our first time visiting this farm and I was truly amazed by the variety of activities that this farm had for kids and adults. Initially, we spent a few good hours exploring their farm, stopping by at the local farmers market, buying freshly made pies, and tasting some locally made wine at their wine tasting center. I was so excited when I found out that they had a bbq station, it’s one of my favorite things to do all through the year. So after our tour was over, we stopped by at the bbq station for lunch, picked up some corn cobs and potatoes, and some freshly baked bread for Mishika which she absolutely loved.

Sharing some beautiful pictures from our apple picking on Becker farms!

Well, I think Mishika thought this was a real hen. She was initially scared, kept saying ‘hi hen, how are you' 🙂

The picture booth never gets boring. They had a ton of these all around the farm and Mishika keeping peek-a-boo' ng us all through them 🙂

I loved the farmhouse market. They had such cute stuff to buy and a beautiful in house bakery with everything freshly made. I was so tempted that I ended up getting a box of freshly made pies to take back home with us.

Right at the bbq spot, we found a beautiful grapes garden. I barely looked away for a minute and found Mishika eating them (haha). This is why their wine is so tasty!

Such pretty flowers everywhere. I wish I have these in my garden one day.

They had a huge apple farm and it was gorgeous. We loved picking the apples off the ground and collecting them in our bags. We spent a lot of good hours at the farm playing peek-a-boo with Mishika, running along with the farm, playing ball-ball with apples and taking a lot of pictures, and not to forget the unlimited stories that Mishika had for each apple in the farm (haha….we have a chatterbox :)…..

Mishika loved plucking apples while getting a good shoulder ride from Mayank. It was hard to get her down!

Seeing such good apples around I could not resist taking a few bites… my verdict – ‘they were so sweet'.

How can we girls getaway from flowers? I loved decorating Mishika's hair with flowers and she did the same to me… Well, Mishika did call her dad to participate but Mayank was happy to capture the moment rather than get his hair all decked up with flowers.

Finally, after multiple clicks were finally able to get one decent family pic with all three of us in the frame 🙂

I love looking at Mishika's expression. It's so inquisitive and sweet every time she finds something new to explore!

We found our hayride!

After we were done with the apple picking we decided to take Mishika to her wonderland in the farm..’ the petting zoo’… Of course, Mayank and I collectively decided to keep the petting zoo for the last as we knew once Mishika spots it, we are not coming back… So the entire time we were trying our best to hide the petting zoo from her but it was so tough to stop her from running in the opposite direction 🙂 Of course! Mishika completely flipped out when she saw the petting zoo. She was overly excited at the sight of the pony and the alpacas. She even took a pony ride which came in as a huge surprise for us as we thought that she might be too scared.

As Mayank and I had guessed we did spend a lot of time (hours!!) in the petting zoo, meeting the farm animals, taking pony rides, playing in the swings, feeding the fishes, running after goats, singing nursery rhymes and not to the forget the jumping on the bouncer (I did that too. felt like a huge cardio workout. I was exhausted!!

Mishika made some friends on the farm!!

She took rounds on the pony again and again until the pony neighed and she jumped off (haha)… she wanted nowhere to be near the pony after that.

Finally, after a lot of fun and clicking thousands of pictures, we finally headed back. We are totally coming back for their pumpkin exhibit coming soon in October. Can’t wait! 🙂
