These easy-to-make and healthy breakfast parfaits are packed in layers with yogurt, fresh fruits and oat crunch.

In my few earlier recipes the zoodles and the quick veggie tacos, I have mentioned that I am all about quick, easy to make and healthy recipes. Also, I have entered the phase where my 2 year old toddler has a strong liking for meals that look fancy and eats them better.

Yogurt and fresh fruit parfaits are just another healthy breakfast meal at our home that is a huge hit with my husband and my daughter, and the best part is that they can be made ahead and stored in airtight jars, perfect for stress-free mornings as a full-time working mom.

I like to play around with the yogurt parfaits, layer them with different fruits top them with oat crunch, granola or maybe dry fruits or sometimes even with chocolate sprinkles. These parfaits takes me less than 5 minutes to make, looks pretty, is packed with such healthy proteins and fats. I usually make a batch on the weekends and then use them over the next couple of days and top them off with new toppings every time so that it does not get repetitive.

INSTRUCTIONS

At the bottom of the mason jar, place one layer of the Greek Gods Honey Vanilla yogurt. Alternate with freshly sliced bananas, yogurt and berries. Once you reach the top of the jar, add oat crunch and freshly sliced strawberries. You can also add honey or chocolate flakes. If you are making parfaits to be used later on, then make sure to add the toppings only when you are serving them as they can get soggy. Also, for my 2 year old I like to crush the oat crunch or granola in tiny pieces before serving her to prevent choking hazards.

WHAT KIND OF YOGURT SHOULD YOU USE FOR PARFAIT?

I have used the Greek Gods Honey Vanilla yogurt as it’s already sweet and creamy. Also, Greek Gods parfait are packed with 9g of proteins and they are so creamy that can get you a thicker parfait. If you are trying to cut down sugar, then you can go for a plain unsweetened yogurt like a plain yogurt and top it with sweet fruits like mangoes or berries for the taste. Parfaits are all about the right combination of fruits and toppings that complement each other.

Greek Gods Honey Vanilla Yogurt that can be found in the dairy aisle in walmart. Plus, The Greek Gods brand Greek-Style Yogurt and Kefir are organic, non-GMO, and made with milk from cows that are not treated with growth hormones.

WHAT KIND OF GRANOLA HAVE I USED IN THE PARFAIT?

Usually I like to use the granola made from oats and nuts, but you can use any other granola mix which is sweet and compliments your yogurt. Instead of granolas you can also add crushed cereals and a drop of honey or maple syrup to get the sweet flavor.

CAN YOU MAKE THE PARFAIT AHEAD OF TIME?

Yes, you can make the parfaits ahead of time. Just make sure that you store the parfaits in jars with lids and do not leave them exposed open in the fridge as it can make your fruits stall. Also add the topping when you are about the eat the parfait as the granolas and other toppings can get soggy.
